Dental implant surgery has completely revolutionized the way we practice dentistry at 201 Dental Care. Each year, we change the lives of more and more of our patients by offering dental implants. Almost anyone with missing teeth is a candidate for this procedure. Dental implants are replacement teeth that will look and feel just like your own and offer a superior alternative to partial dentures and bridges.

When you visit our office, the first step to having implants placed is an initial evaluation where Dr. Jessica Gorelik will address several key factors, including:

  • The presence of sufficient healthy bone where the tooth or teeth are missing
  • Nerve and sinus planning
  • The number of teeth missing to plan for the appropriate prosthetic (implant crown, implant bridge or implant denture)

We use digital radiography to carefully plan for the optimal size of implants. The implants are then surgically placed into the bone. A collagen membrane and healing cap is placed on the top of the implant for approximately three months. This is known as the healing period, and it allows the implants to osseointegrate (fuse to your existing bone) and the gum tissue to heal.

The next portion of the procedure is the restorative phase, at which point the implant is exposed and a post called an abutment is screwed into the implant. At 201 Dental Care, we only place custom abutments that are fabricated to precise specs, ensuring the prosthetic’s precise fit. An impression is then taken and sent to our team of world-class ceramists, who will fabricate a custom crown or bridge that will be attached to the abutment. Once completed, your mouth will be restored to natural form with strong, beautiful teeth!

Implant Dentures

In circumstances where many replacement teeth are needed, we offer implant dentures. Implant dentures are very similar in form to traditional dentures; however, they are stabilized by dental implants. Very often, denture wearers complain that dentures become loose and “float” around the mouth, limiting one’s ability to eat and speak comfortably. Implant dentures are a cost-effective solution, and in many cases, we can actually retrofit an existing denture with implants.
